Deepening Faith

Adult Spiritual Formation

OVER COFFEE is a time each Sunday that we set aside for Adult Spiritual Formation. Our minister, David Parks-Ramage, generally leads a book discussion over this time and Rev. Bob Cramer, a retired minister in our congregation convenes a group studying mission in the 21st Century.

Wednesdays – Encountering Your New life: Bible Study and Meditation

Wednesday is “Encountering New Life” Day at First Congregational UCC, an opportunity to deepen your spiritual life. We invite you to encounter your new life, the first day of God’s new creation.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study:  Heart’s True Home

Wednesday mornings are an active time at First Church. The Bible Study begins at 10 am.   There our two texts to our Bible Study:  the scriptural text and the text of your life.  We bring the one to the other, celebrating Spirit as she blows through our togetherness, our conversation and deep reflection.

Wednesday Evening Meditation: Zen Christianity

Zen is a Japanese word that means meditation. Meditation is an adventure of exploration and discovery, of sitting with what rises in our lives and paying attention. For Christians, this is to explore what Jesus was teaching when he taught about the kingdom of God which he said we would find right “in our midst,”. We meet each Wednesday and meditate for about 1/2 hour followed by a time of conversation. Beginners are welcome. 6:30 pm, Weds.
