Who We Are
Everyone Has a Place at God's Table
Open and Affirming
The First Congregational United Church of Christ is an Open and Affirming congregation. We have made a public covenant to “welcome into our full life and ministry persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.” For us, these are more than just words. Whomever you love, we will welcome you with open arms. Our own LGBTQIA+ identifying members can testify to that!
Part of the United Church of Christ
The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a distinct and diverse community of Christians that come together as one church to join faith and action. With over 5,000 churches and nearly one million members across the U.S., the UCC serves God in the co-creation of a just and sustainable world. The UCC is a church of firsts, a church of extravagant welcome, and a church where "…they may all be one" (John 17:21).

Making God’s Love Visible
Our Mission Statement
Warm and welcoming, dynamic and diverse,
We come together with open arms
to renew our spirits,
challenge our minds,
and celebrate Christ in our midst.
Excited and enlivened by the Holy Spirit, we are transformed.
Reaching out, we become what our hearts can see.
What We Believe
Our Land Acknowledgement
Toward a spirit of truth and reconciliation, First Congregational UCC Santa Rosa recognizes that our building and our ministries are on the traditional territories of Miwok and Pomo people.
All are Welcome!
We affirm God’s inclusive embrace. Each Sunday as our worship begins we say, "No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!" We mean it -- you are welcome to our community. Together we invoke and experience God’s love in community, we join our lives together in service to God’s love in the world. If you would like to experience this welcome – come and see us! Perhaps we are the place for you.
Our Worship Schedule
Sundays at 10:00 AM
Parking is on the street or in our parking lot. We have reserved spaces for those with handicap placards.
*You'll be warmly greeted at the door with a "hello."
*Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, school-age, and teens are all welcome to worship anytime. There are two special areas set up with fun activities (crafts. leaflets, puzzles, etc.), one is in the back of the sanctuary and one is in the front on the right side. We also have Sunday School for those who want to join in. Click Here for more information.
*Hand sanitizer will be available to use.
*When indoors, we will have extra seating for those not comfortable being in proximity to others. Just let an usher know your needs.
Once you walk into the sanctuary, you will see people dressed all different ways. Come however you feel comfortable.
Our service is usually 60 minutes long. There will be singing, a scripture reading, an anthem, a sermon, prayer, and hymns. Our children are in worship the first 10-15 minutes and then are released for Sunday School. We usually celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month. We celebrate communion most commonly by intinction (dipping bread in the cup of grape juice). The congregation moves up the aisle as able, or communion can be brought to your seat.
It's fine to not participate in Holy Communion.
We want to make sure when you visit that you feel our welcome! If you need anything, feel free to ask. Everyone has visited for the first time and we'll understand.
Our church has a Safe Church Policy as recommended by the United Church of Christ. For more information, contact our church office or the UCC.
